My little man is 18 months now! We had a little family reunion out in the Texas hill country and he was having so much fun playing in the river I decided to grab my camera and take his 18 month photos there. The hubs always loves when I wade out into water with my very expensive (but not waterproof) camera, but hey- its fully insured :-).

I absolutely adore this private river location and if you are interested in family photos there… have camera, will travel! I’m always looking for an excuse to get out into the hill country!

My Kaylee is turning 11 soon. Being my most laid back kid, she really is the best model. While the other kids tire of getting their pictures taken pretty easily, Kaylee is totally in to it, from start to finish. She also accompanies me to a lot of my shoots and is my burgeoning apprentice. Makes my heart smile.

My little guy is 1 today.

I love his gap toothed smile.

I love his sweet baby cheeks (I may have left a wee mark on them the other day sucking and kissing and loving on those cheeks).

I love that he does not know he is little and will do anything and everything his siblings are doing (dancing, push ups, jumping).

I love that I take him on runs and he sings himself to sleep.

I love his messy blond hair. Sometimes I just see a little hand reach up and grab the side of his crib, followed by a blond bedhead, followed by the aforementioned gap toothed smile.

I love that he started walking so early and is so little and short it verges on ridiculous looking.

I love that the other kiddos rush home from school, throw their backpack on the floor and run to pick him up first.

I love the songs Jesse makes up about him.

I love that he loves rubber duckies.

I even love that I can count on him to wake up around 4:45 every night/morning and want to nurse himself back to sleep.

He has brought an indescribable amount of joy to this family.

Love my guy.

Everyone describes my Kaylee as a little ray of sunshine. She is just about the happiest, most laid back kiddo around. Always has a smile on her face. Always offers a kind word. Always coming up with solutions to problems. She’s never met a stranger. She is truly one of a kind. Happy 10th birthday Kaylee!

My boy.

He’s a cooing machine now. It is the kiddo’s mission every day when they get home from school to collect coos and smiles.

He’s got a LOT to tell us though those coos.

mmmmmmmm.

I don’t know about you, but I love little baby hinnies and rolls.

Ahhhh… life with “the baby.”

Our family has a baby. And he is positively yummy.

It’s been so cold in Houston that I have not gotten the chance to get any outdoor shots of him. Boo.

The best place to shoot inside the house is in the master bedroom… so this is where we have been hanging out.

In case you were wondering, he is wearing gDiapers. I was really put off by the thought of the zillions of diapers he would end up using in his lifetime taking 500 years to decompose in a landfill, so I started researching cloth diapers before he was born. There are so many options out there! I finally settled on these hybrids- they can be full on cloth diapers or parts of them can be flushed/composted/ or thrown away (the throw away part is biodegradable unlike traditional diapers.) A bonus is that they are SO stinkin’ CUTE!  There are a lot of pros and cons to hybrid diapers and I would be more than happy to chat with anyone interested in my experience!

I am trying very heard to live with the mantra – “Be Inconvenienced” – when it comes to the environment.  I.e.- it’s OK to be a little bit inconvenienced if it means making our earth a little bit cleaner, safer, and healthier.

Back to work before it’s baby holding time again (the dude likes to be held. A LOT).

After a six week maternity leave, I am slowly easing back into work, so I will start posting a bit more. My March is full with sessions, so book now if you want a Spring session, they are filling up fast!

Here’s a pic of my loves <3<3<3.

It’s unheard of to have all the kids dressed in normal looking clothes (instead of the leggings, athletic shorts, T-shirts, boots combo they like to sport) AND have the baby asleep and content, so I dragged them all out into the street last night to snap this pic.

Color or B/W? I can’t choose. But one of them is getting blown up big, because I simply adore this image of my loves.

And he is AMAZING.

Born January 15- Timothy James- “TJ” entered our lives. He is named after one of Jesse’s best friends that left this earth entirely too early. If you knew him, you would understand why we wanted to name our son after him. We knew we wanted Timothy to be either the first or the middle name if we had a boy, but we had all kinds of unique names picked for the other half of the name.  As it turns out, we decided on the name once we saw his sweet little face. He just looked so All American, we went with a more traditional name (James is Jesse’s middle name).

The kids are SO in love with him. I highly recommend bringing a newborn into your life if you have older kids. They seriously cannot get enough of him (I’ve even had to break up a couple of fights over whose turn it was to hold him). I hope this lasts!

They have had some funny little moments too. Jude cannot understand the semantics of feeding him. He says I am milking him since its a liquid and not a solid he is getting!

I told Jesse it was time to bathe him the other day because he had milk curdles in his neck and his hair was greasy. Kaylee piped up and said “Hey! He’s just like me!” Ahhhh. My little free spirit that just does not like to bathe.

Emily came home from school and declared she was going to hurry up and wash her hands so she could “pet” him.

And Presley couldn’t even WAIT to hold him the other day. I set her up on the couch with the Boppy and checked on them after a few minutes. She had her Nook resting on his head while she read. I should have known better.
